Following ten years in the mining industry carrying out chemical analysis and research with the mineral processing of ores at various mines, Keith spent another decade or so in the industrial wastewater treatment industry carrying research work on the treatment of many industrial effluents using chemical and biological treatment methods. For the last twenty five years Keith has carried out contaminated land investigations including: all the stages in the recognised protocol from the stage 1 desk study, initial risk assessment, development of the conceptual site model to the final closure report. Keith has carried out detailed intrusive site investigations including both generic and detailed site specific risk assessments and the recommendation for the most appropriate remediation options. Keith oversees the remediation of contaminated sites and carries out the verification on completion. The contaminated land ‘industry’ has changed dramatically over the last several years and is now governed by the EA LCRM protocol to which Keith qualifies as a competent person within that protocol.
